DeerRun Apex Base 1 Review
Last updated: October 2026
The DeerRun Apex Base 1 is a full-size home treadmill, not a walking pad. DeerRun positions it as the entry point into its performance-running range, for walking, jogging and running, with a 0.6–10 mph speed range, a 0–15% automatic incline and a 350 lb maximum user weight.
This is a research-based review built from DeerRun's published specifications and manufacturer information. We have not physically tested the Apex Base 1.

Quick Verdict
On DeerRun's published figures, the Apex Base 1 is for someone who wants jogging and running speeds plus steep automatic incline at home, and who has room for a full-size machine that folds upright. It lists up to 10 mph, a 0–15% automatic incline, a 350 lb maximum user weight and a 17.32 × 45.28 in running area.
The gaps: DeerRun doesn't list the machine weight, motor horsepower or type, a decibel figure, or how many incline levels there are. At 56.10 × 27.56 × 50.00 in extended, it's far larger than a walking pad and isn't an under-desk machine.
- Speed: 0.6–10 mph
- Incline: 0–15% automatic
- Running area: 17.32 × 45.28 in
- Max user weight: 350 lb · Machine weight: Not listed

What Is the DeerRun Apex Base 1?
DeerRun presents the Apex Base 1 as the entry point into its performance-running range, for walking, jogging and running. That makes it a different kind of machine from the low-profile walking pads most of Walking Counts covers. See DeerRun's range on our DeerRun models page, and our walking pad vs treadmill comparison for how the two formats differ.
0.6–10 MPH Speed Range
DeerRun lists a speed range of 0.6–10 mph, with 10 mph as the maximum. That covers walking, jogging and running speeds — well beyond the roughly 3.8–4 mph top speed of most walking pads on this site.
15% Automatic Incline
DeerRun lists a 0–15% automatic incline. It describes example training ranges — 0–3%, 5–8% and 10–15% — but these are workout examples, not a count of incline levels. DeerRun doesn't publish how many automatic levels there are, so we list that as "Not listed". Browse more incline options in our best walking pads with incline guide.
Running Area
DeerRun lists a running area of 17.32 × 45.28 in. DeerRun publishes no user-height or stride guidance, so we don't say who the running area fits.
Overall Dimensions
DeerRun lists extended dimensions of 56.10 × 27.56 × 50.00 in. Measure the space you plan to use, including room around the machine, before buying.
Folded Dimensions
DeerRun lists folded dimensions of 26.77 × 27.56 × 50.00 in. Folding shortens the length but keeps the full 50.00 in height, so you'll need floor space and vertical clearance where you store it.
Upright Folding and Storage
The Apex Base 1 uses an upright folding design. DeerRun says it can be folded upright after use and describes storing it in places such as bedrooms, home gyms, garages and spare rooms. It isn't described as folding flat or folding in half. See our best foldable walking pads guide for how other folding designs compare.
350 lb Maximum User Weight
DeerRun lists a 350 lb maximum user weight. If you'd rather have a walking pad with a high listed limit, see our walking pads with 300 lb+ capacity guide.
Machine Weight — Not Listed
DeerRun doesn't list the Apex Base 1's machine weight in the information we used. We don't estimate it from other DeerRun treadmills. If weight matters for moving or storing it, check with DeerRun before buying.
Motor — Not Listed
Motor horsepower and motor type aren't listed in the Apex Base 1 specifications we used. We don't infer them from the X20, A6 Plus or any other DeerRun model.
Control Display
DeerRun describes a "Clear Control Display" showing time, speed, distance, calories and incline. DeerRun doesn't describe it as a touchscreen in the information we used, so we don't call it one.
Speed and Incline Shortcut Controls
DeerRun lists shortcut controls for adjusting workout settings, specifically "Quick Speed & Incline Controls." The information we used doesn't describe a remote control.
PitPat
DeerRun lists PitPat compatibility for workout records and data. DeerRun and PitPat also advertise workout tracking, virtual running and racing, challenges, social and community features, gamification, rewards, AI or adaptive training, and syncing with third-party services such as Apple Health. These are DeerRun's and PitPat's claims; Walking Counts hasn't tested them.
Noise Information
DeerRun does not publish a decibel figure for the Apex Base 1. We don't borrow noise figures from other DeerRun models, so we can't say how loud it will be in your home.
Safety Lock
DeerRun includes a Safety Lock with the Apex Base 1. The information we used doesn't describe how it works or any other safety features, so we don't add details beyond that.
What's Included
DeerRun lists these box contents:
- Main treadmill
- Safety Lock
- 5.9 ft power cord
- Oil
- L-type 6 mm hex socket
- Two cylindrical bolts
- Manual
- Quick & Easy Guide card

DeerRun's regional pages publish conflicting A6 Plus figures: the US page lists 54.54 lb and 53.27 × 21.77 × 45.79 in, while DeerRun UK lists 28.94 kg (about 63.8 lb), a handrail-up size of about 49.4 × 21.8 × 45.8 in and a folded size of about 53.3 × 21.8 × 4.9 in. We show both rather than choosing one.

These are different product styles rather than direct equivalents: the Apex Base 1 is a full-size treadmill, the Z10 Pro a more compact walk/run design. Read our DeerRun Z10 Pro review.
“(see notes)” on the DeerRun Z10 Pro: DeerRun's 2027 spec block lists a 41.34 × 15.75 in walking area and 72.5 lb, while the comparison table on the same product page lists 43 × 16 in and 73.48 lb. DeerRun doesn't explain which should take precedence.
DeerRun publishes both sets of figures on the same Z10 Pro product page and doesn't explain which should take precedence. One section is headed “2027 DeerRun Z10 Pro – Redesigned for More Confident Movement”, while another part of the page uses “2025 New Grade” wording; that doesn't tell us which figures are current.

Claims We Don't Repeat as Fact
DeerRun's marketing includes statements that are manufacturer promotion rather than independent findings. We don't repeat these as fact: burning more calories or fat, weight loss, stronger lower-body muscles, improved cardiovascular health or other health outcomes, "stable" as meaning objectively safer, long-term durability, PitPat cash or points rewards as guaranteed benefits, and AI training plans producing specific results.
How We Evaluated It
We compiled this review from DeerRun's published Apex Base 1 information and compared it with figures already on Walking Counts. We have not physically tested the Apex Base 1 and haven't independently verified DeerRun's specifications. Read more about how we review products.
