The DeerRun Z20 is DeerRun's suitcase-style walking pad. DeerRun describes it as its first treadmill with a foldable running belt: it folds to 30.83 × 20.71 × 7.01 in, rolls on built-in wheels with a retractable handle, and can be stored vertically or under furniture. DeerRun lists 0.6–3.8 mph and a 300 lb maximum user weight.
This is a research-based review built from DeerRun's published specifications. We have not physically tested the Z20.
Quick Verdict
On DeerRun's published figures, the Z20 is the DeerRun walking pad built around storage. The belt itself folds, DeerRun publishes the folded size, and it explicitly describes vertical and under-furniture storage, with wheels, wheel locks and a retractable handle for moving it.
The trade-offs are a 58.64 lb machine, walking speeds only (3.8 mph top), no listed incline feature, no conventional handrail, and no published safety or electrical details.

How the Z20 Folds
Unlike walking pads where only a handrail or frame folds, DeerRun describes the Z20 as having a foldable running belt, and calls it its first treadmill with one. DeerRun describes it folding upright into a suitcase-style shape that rolls like carry-on luggage on built-in 360° wheels, with a retractable handle and wheel locks.
DeerRun doesn't publish how the belt joint works, so we don't describe the mechanism.
Folded Size and Storage
DeerRun lists the Z20 at 48.27 × 20.71 × approximately 6.6 in unfolded and 30.83 × 20.71 × 7.01 in folded. DeerRun explicitly describes storing it vertically or under furniture.
DeerRun doesn't publish storage clearance, wall-leaning or wall-mounting guidance. If you plan to slide it under furniture, compare your clearance with its published folded height (7.01 in) and unfolded height (about 6.6 in). See our best walking pads for small spaces and best foldable walking pads.
Walking Area
DeerRun's UK Z20 specifications list the walking belt at 95 × 40 cm, or approximately 37.4 × 15.75 inches. The US page's main specification block doesn't prominently list a walking-area measurement. The UK page's other major measurements match the US figures after conversion.
DeerRun publishes no height or stride guidance, so we don't say who it fits.
Speed and Intended Use
DeerRun lists 0.6–3.8 mph. DeerRun uses "walk-run" style wording, but with that top speed we treat the Z20 as a walking pad and don't recommend it for running.
DeerRun markets it for home, office, under-desk use and small spaces. We can't promise it fits under any particular standing desk; check your desk's height range against the Z20's roughly 6.6 in unfolded height. See our best under-desk walking pads.
Size and 58.64 lb Machine Weight
DeerRun lists 58.64 lb. That's heavier than the Q2 Urban, Q2 Urban Plus and standard Z10. DeerRun's wheels and retractable handle are intended for moving it, but you'll still be handling a 58.64 lb machine when folding and standing it up.
300 lb Maximum User Weight
DeerRun lists a 300 lb maximum user weight, the same as its other walking pads covered here. Compare more in our walking pads with 300 lb+ capacity.
Remote, PitPat and Bluetooth Controls
The Z20 comes with a remote and supports Bluetooth/app control through PitPat, including workout and progress tracking.
DeerRun also advertises PitPat features such as AI-driven training, virtual racing, 3D environments, Apple Health and third-party syncing, community challenges, cash/points rewards and "Anti-Cheat" technology. These are DeerRun's and PitPat's marketing claims; we haven't tested or evaluated them.
LED Display
DeerRun lists an LED display showing speed, time, distance and calories. One DeerRun marketing section uses the phrase "LED touchscreen", but the specification says LED display, so that's what we list.
Noise Claim and Its Limitations
DeerRun lists the Z20's brushless motor as "Low Noise <45 db", but it doesn't publish the testing conditions needed to compare that figure fairly with other walking pads. DeerRun's other noise wording is marketing, and we don't repeat it as fact or draw conclusions about apartments or neighbours. See how we handle makers' noise figures in our quiet walking pads guide.
What's Included
DeerRun lists the main unit, a 5.9 ft power cord, a remote control, a refueling/lubricant bottle, an L-type hex socket, the manual and a quick guide card. DeerRun says no assembly is required.
Safety, Maintenance and What DeerRun Doesn't Publish
- Safety key: not listed
- Emergency stop: not listed
- Auto-stop: not listed
- User-height guidance: not listed
- Power/electrical requirements: not listed in the specifications
- Motor horsepower: not listed
- Incline: not listed
- Detailed lubrication schedule: not listed (a lubricant bottle is included)
DeerRun Claims We Don't Repeat as Fact
We don't present DeerRun's marketing claims about storage-space savings, frame strength, belt durability over repeated folding, workout performance, quietness, calorie or health benefits, or PitPat motivation and rewards as established facts. We haven't verified them.

Z20 vs Standard Z10
| Z20 | Standard Z10 | |
|---|---|---|
| Walking area | 37.4 × 15.75 in | 34.84 × 15.75 in |

The Z20 emphasizes folding and storage. The standard Z10 publishes a 12% automatic incline system across 12 levels, while the Z20 doesn't list an incline feature. Both list a 15.75 in-wide walking area; the Z20's is longer. Read our DeerRun Z10 review.
Z20 vs Z10 Pro
| Z20 | Z10 Pro | |
|---|---|---|
| Handrail | No conventional handrail listed | Folding/rotating handrails |
| Speed | 0.6–3.8 mph | 0.6–3.8 mph handrail down; up to 7.5 mph handrail up |

| Maximum user weight | 300 lb | 300 lb |
| Safety Lock in the box | Not listed | Yes (Z10 Pro only) |
| App | PitPat | PitPat |
“(see notes)” on the DeerRun Z10 Pro: DeerRun's 2027 spec block lists a 41.34 × 15.75 in walking area and 72.5 lb, while the comparison table on the same product page lists 43 × 16 in and 73.48 lb. DeerRun doesn't explain which should take precedence.
The Z10 Pro adds folding/rotating handrails, 12% automatic incline, a faster mode of up to 7.5 mph with the handrail up, and a Safety Lock in the box. The Z20 focuses on a folding belt and vertical storage. DeerRun publishes both sets of figures on the same Z10 Pro product page and doesn't explain which should take precedence. One section is headed “2027 DeerRun Z10 Pro – Redesigned for More Confident Movement”, while another part of the page uses “2025 New Grade” wording; that doesn't tell us which figures are current. Because of that, we don't compare the two machines' walking areas or weights as settled. Read our DeerRun Z10 Pro review.
Who It May Suit

Who May Want Something Different
- Want incline: the Z10 or the Q2 models.
- Want something lighter: the Q2 Urban.
